Here is the winter weather update for Northern Arizona from the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, the Winter Weather Advisory has been extended through 7 pm Wednesday in some locations. The area around Prescott is not under any advisory or warning. That being said, expect snow showers to continue through this evening, but with a lull in precipitation occurring from late tonight into Wednesday morning. 

Rain and snow showers are expected to resume by late Wednesday morning, with snow levels around 4500-5500 feet.

Tonight

Rain showers likely before 8pm, then rain and snow showers likely between 8pm and 2am, then a chance of snow showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Southwest wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.  

Christmas Day

Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. South wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. 

Wednesday Night

A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
