A Perfect Day for a Veteran's Day Parade

12 November 2013

With a joint effort from the City of Prescott, the VA Medical Center and Embry Riddle, the Veteran's Day Parade went off without a hitch.

From flyover to flags, there was lots to see and do, on this day set aside to honor our Veterans. Although the Veteran's Day Parade has a long history in Prescott, this was the first time it had ever taken place in downtown Prescott.

“We are extremely excited about the new parade venue and our partnership with the City of Prescott,” said VA Medical Center Director Donna Jacobs.  “Moving the parade downtown has made it possible for us to expand it and allow more people in the community and throughout the entire state to come to downtown Prescott and pay tribute to our veterans.”

Even Senator John McCain came up for the event, walking in the parade next to Mayor Marlin Kuykendall and ERAU President, Frank Ayers. They each shared a few words beforehand:

Over 70 entrants participated, including a flyover at 11:11.
