Local Charter School plays National Anthem prior to Dbacks game

Students from BASIS Prescott and other BASIS Schools in Arizona were center stage prior to the game on Saturday night between the Chicago Cubs and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The combination band did an outstanding job performing the National Anthem.

Maria Flurry, band director here in Prescott, had the pleasure of leading the entire band. "It was fun to conduct the combined bands. Each director had prepared his band so well that our rehearsal was just like fitting perfectly made puzzle pieces together. I saw the looks on the kids' faces when we started the warm-up because the sound of the combined bands was enormous."

After the performance, to students made their way to their seats, enjoying the ball game , despite the Cubs beating the Dbacks 4-2.

One of the 22 BASIS Prescott Band members, Trombone player Ben said, "It was pretty cool. A lot of fun."

Listed below are upcoming events for the BASIS Prescott Band.
