Pride of Prescott Marching Band

18 November 2013

The Pride of Prescott Marching Band makes city proud!

The Pride of Prescott Marching Band and Color Guard went to "Super State" for the first time in school history, and came back with 6th place finish in Division 2, for the state of Arizona.

The band, led by director Dan Bradstreet, performed their final performance of the show "Maya" before a capacity crowd at Glendale Community College on Saturday. The band, featuring 81 members, put on another strong showing, but the competition was very tough. Division 2 comprises of bands that range in size from 65 to 94 members.

The band went to state competition at Hamilton High school in Gilbert two weeks ago, and finished fourth, qualifying them for "Super State".

Eight judges watch each band performance. Each judge looks at a particular part of the performance and gives it a rating. There are five items that judges review. They are musical performance, visual perfomance, percussion, auxiliary, and general effect. Captions are awarded to the highest ranking band.
