PHOENIX – Join ONEBOOKAZ 2015 kids’ category winning author Gale Leach at various Verde Valley libraries April 16-18th. Leach will be joined by teen category winner Dan Trumpis in Cottonwood on Saturday.
The ONEBOOKAZ book competition has three categories: Adult, Teen and Kids’. The three 2015 winners are:
- Adult category: Marcia Fine (Scottsdale) for The Blind Eye: a Sephardic Journey; where two women in different centuries explore their identities in this sweeping narrative about a family expelled from Spain, connecting forward across time to a modern woman of Cuban descent.
- Teen category: Dan Trumpis (Sun Lakes) for Welcome to Harmony; a fantasy about a tween wolf moving to a new town where his is not the only family with something to hide.
- Kids category: Gale Leach (Sun City West) for Bruce and the Road to Courage; Bruce the caterpillar who runs away from home to avoid becoming a butterfly and finds friends and misadventure along the way.
All three winning entries to ONEBOOKAZ are available online at no cost to Arizona residents at www.onebookaz.org through BiblioBoard. The eBooks also are available on e-readers for Android, iOS and Kindle Fire HD.

ONEBOOKAZ winning author, Gale Leach introduces digital publishing for indie authors. Leach started Two Cats Press in order to publish her own books, but the company grew almost in spite of itself and now includes the works of others.

Gale Leach grew up in California dreaming of becoming a professional writer. As a child, she would write and send scripts to television studios in hopes of being discovered. Today, with hard work and perseverance, her dreams have come true. She is the author of several award-winning books, including her first book The Art of Pickleball. She has written and published four books about Bruce the Caterpillar and is currently working on The Rift, a magical adventure that takes readers to another world. About Dan Trumpis
Dan Trumpis was born in Los Angeles and lived most of his life in California before moving to Arizona six years ago. He currently lives in Sun Lakes and teaches Communication Arts at C.O. Greenfield in Phoenix, where he is inspiring his fifth-grade students with a love of literature and writing. When he is not teaching or writing, Dan enjoys going to movies, reading comic books, and searching used book stores for novels by his favorite author, Neil Gaiman. Beginning in March, communities across the state of Arizona read and participate in discussions and programs centered around the winning selections from the eBook writing competition. ONEBOOKAZ strives to encourage writing, reading and thoughtful interaction with literature in digital formats.
