Prescott Celebrates the Season With a Cowboy Christmas Parade

04 December 2017

Thousands lined the streets for Prescott's Christmas Parade.

There’s a reason that Prescott is known as the official Arizona Christmas City, and the Saturday parade is just another example of how appropriate that honor is.

Sponsored by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, the 35th Annual Christmas Parade had a theme of “A Cowboy Christmas,” celebrating the Western heritage deeply woven in the fiber of this community. Parade participants from young to old wholeheartedly embraced the theme with cowboy hats, bandanas, campfires, stick horses, real horses (and llamas, but that’s another story!) and much more.

You mess with his Christmas tree, and this li’l guy is gonna take no prisoners.

Tommy Meredith, the instigator behind the Jersey Lilly Christmas Lights fundraiser, was honored as the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade. He and his family rode on the stagecoach.

Eighty-five floats in all traveled along the Parade route. Of course, the final float carried Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The winners were announced later in the evening at the Courthouse lighting.

Watch the parade here. We tried to live stream it, but unfortunately there were some technical difficulties. So, there are a couple of minor breaks in the video below.
