YHS Spay/Neuter Clinic welcomes new vet

Yavapai Humane Society is pleased to announce a new addition to the YHS family, Dr. Jenni Redmon. Dr. Redmon will join YHS as the full-time veterinarian at the YHS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic, currently the only low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Northern Arizona.

“I’ll be trying to decrease the amount of pets and litters that are sacrificed and the needless breeding,” says Dr. Redmon. “I’m used to dealing with the other health problems that come when owners don’t spay or neuter and a young age.”

Dr. Redmon was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, ID and graduated from Purdue in 1992. She has spent the last 20 years in private practice and is also certified to perform chiropractic medicine on pets.

“I’m excited to help an organization that has such a wonderful mission,” says Dr. Redmon. “Meeting with Ed Boks (YHS Executive Director) and Dr. Lisa Darling (YHS Head Vet) was inspiring and I want to be a part of that.”

The Yavapai Humane Society Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic is located at 2989 Centerpointe East off the Granite Dells exit on Highway 89A. Surgery appointments are available by appointment Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The walk-in vaccination clinic happens every Friday and offers affordable vaccinations, microchips, and basic wellness services. For more information and a price list for clinic services visit www.yavapaihumane.org/clinic or call (928) 771-0547 to make a spay or neuter appointment. All proceeds from the YHS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic benefit the homeless animals of Yavapai Humane Society.

The Yavapai Humane Society has been serving Yavapai County’s citizens and animals since 1972. YHS has a shelter in Prescott, a Cat Adoption Center in PetSmart, a Thrift Shop and a separate spay/neuter clinic offering low-cost spay/neuters and low-cost vaccinations. In July of 2010, we adopted a “no-kill” ethic which has led to our current live release rate of 95%, making YHS the safest shelter in Arizona.
