Empty the Shelter Weekend

27 July 2012

Yavapai Humane Society asks you to take home a pet this weekend

Yavapai Humane Society is throwing Empty the Shelter Weekend from Thursday, July 26 to Sunday, July 27. They need to relieve crowding in the kennels. Adopters can pick their own price for any cat or kitten and all dogs and puppies are just $25.

“July is the busiest month of the year and we need to find homes for these terrific animals,” say Ed Boks, YHS Executive Director. “We will be open until 8pm on Thursday and Friday to encourage more folks to visit.”

Volunteers will be walking dogs around the campus sharing their favorites with potential adopters. Cat cuddlers will also be on hand to give adopters intimate knowledge on available felines.

On Saturday, MAGIC 99.1’s Leza will be on campus from 11am-1pm meeting fans and encouraging adoptions. Dippin’ Dots ice cream will also be selling treats with 20% of sales benefiting YHS animals.

“It is our hope the community will respond to this crisis” said Boks. “If you are looking for a pet to adopt then you will not find a better time or a better selection.”
