Prescott, Ariz.,
July 19, 2010 – The Yavapai Humane Society (YHS) today announced the one-year anniversary of their Low Cost Spay Neuter and Wellness Clinic, which is located at 2989 Centerpointe East Suite B in Prescott, just off highway 89A at the Side Road exit. Since their grand opening on September 17, 2009, the clinic has performed spay/neuter procedures on 1,212 cats and 1,951 dogs for a total of 3,163 surgeries.

The YHS “Pit Stop” program funded spay/neuters for 329 pit bulls and 24 free spay/neuters were performed for low income pet owners through donations received from the public for “The Big Fix” program. Public donations for The Big Fix are being accepted now so YHS can continue to fund spays and neuters for low income residents of Yavapai County.

Other statistics include 206 animals altered in partnership with United Animal Friends and 32 cats altered in partnership with Miss Kitty’s Cat House. The clinic has also administered 6,518 vaccinations; micro chipped 466 animals; and performed 682 diagnostic tests. The clinic is open on Monday and Tuesday for spay/neuter surgery and Friday is dedicated to vaccinations from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Now through November 1st, vaccinations for both dogs and cats are just $12.00. Micro chipping is $20.00 and diagnostic testing is $25.00.
