Editor's Note: Can you believe that the World's Oldest Rodeo has come and gone already? Here at Prescott eNews, we had more stories and photos than we could report in a short week's time. So we decided to stretch out that rodeo feeling for a few more days. This is the first article in that series.
Bailey Gonzales, the 2010 Miss Teen Rodeo Arizona titleholder, came to the Prescott Chamber of Commerce morning mixer last Thursday to promote the World's Oldest Rodeo.
Gonzales, a 16-year-old student at Wickenburg High School, grew up in Chino Valley and spent many years at the Prescott Frontier Days Rodeo before moving to Wickenburg. In April she was crowned as Miss Teen Rodeo Arizona, also winning the Horsemanship Award, according to America's Bridle&Bit.
Telling the Wickenburg Sun that she thinks rodeo actually "keeps her heart beating," Gonzales loves school and collecting boots.
Friendly, and with a bright, cheery smile, Golzales agreed to talk for a few moments with Prescott eNews about what the Prescott Rodeo means to her, and what it takes to become Miss Teen Rodeo Arizona:
Gonzales will serve as Miss Teen Rodeo Arizona until April, 2011.
